On the mountain west of Slussen lies Mariaberget. A unique cultural reserve preserved to the afterlife thanks to farsighted Söderbor, Areas were threatened with demolition in the 1960s and the unique 18th century building was at risk of being lost. In the area you will find a typical wooden house building that represents how large parts of Södermalm in the 17th and 19th centuries. On my walk we gather at the Mariatorget and walk via Timmermansgatan to Monteliusvägen with its view. Via the Laurinska house, Mariahissen, Bellmansgatan and Hornsgatspuckeln. I show where the Great Dauran House was located which was Bellman's childhood home. I'm talking about the 1759 fire that destroyed much of the area.
